Surfing Walk of Fame Huntington Beach Hilton

Jennifer McGrath appeared today at the Surfing Walk of Fame inductee reception at the Huntington Beach Hilton.  The Surfing Walk of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport and culture of surfing.  The 2010 inductees include: Surfing Champions Sunny Garcia and Ian Cairns, Woman of the Year Candy Calhoun, Local Hero Rick “Rockin Fig” Fignetti, Surf Culture icon Dave Rochlen, Surf Pioneer Dewey Weber, and Honor Roll inductee Dick Baker.

In addition to Ms. McGrath, dignitaries in attendance to show their support for the Surfing Walk of Fame included California State Assemblyman Jim Silva, Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach, Huntington Beach Mayor Cathy Green, Councilman Joe Carchio, and others.  See the Surfing Walk of Fame photographs.

The Surfing Walk of Fame will be hosting an induction ceremony at 10:00 a. m. on Thursday, August 5th, in front of Jack’s Surfboards in Huntington Beach.  Jennifer McGrath will be attending the ceremony.  The Surfing Walk of Fame induction is taking place in conjunction with the US Open of Surfing which started July 31, and is ongoing through August 8, in Huntington Beach.

This is the 17th year of Surfing Walk of Fame inductions.  Ballots are sent out to the surfing industry each year to select inductees in five categories - Surf Pioneer, Surf Champion, Woman of the Year, Surf Culture, Local Hero, and Honor Roll.  For more information see Surfing Walk of Fame.
