About Jennifer McGrath
Jennifer McGrath is an accomplished former City Attorney with over 20 years of government law experience. As a City Attorney, Ms. McGrath provided legal advice, strategies and guidance to the City Council, the City’s executive management team, all City Departments including Planning, Human Resources, Public Safety, and Public Works, and represented the City with over 1000 employees and an annual budget over $300 million.
Ms. McGrath managed all in-house attorneys as well as outside legal counsel. She attended and advised over 300 City Council meetings. She drafted resolutions implementing the budget, various fees and taxes, fines, and penalties. She drafted numerous laws including ordinances relating to zoning, building, permits, development agreements, land use, administrative citations, licensing, and more.
She was also charged with handling the legal challenges in the annexation of Sunset Beach, and taught the mandatory ethics training for local agency officials under AB 1234.
After serving as the elected City Attorney for Huntington Beach, California, Ms. McGrath embraced the opportunity to bring her skill set to assist businesses, Cities and Counties throughout California on government law, land use, permits, licensing, regulatory compliance, citations, administrative hearings, litigation, and more.
